Another new one from Arc’teryx, made for skiers and snowboarders who are looking for a jacket that provides both warmth and protection in one package. The Sabre Insulated Jacket provides a seemingly rare combination of GORE-TEX and insulation, making this an awesome candidate for those who are looking to stay happy and dry on the lifts from open till close.
This jacket comes with a 2-layer GORE-TEX, an N80P outer, and Coreloft™ 80 synthetic insulation. With an articulated fit to allow for additional layering and freedom of movement, this insulated shell will allow you to throw down without worrying about busting a seam.
While you could use this shell out of bounds, we think that it excels in a resort setting. Its GORE-TEX outer layer, synthetic insulation, and snow-specific features make this tank of a jacket ideal for running laps all day long.
Things we like:
-
Mesh backing in pit zips keep snow out of undesirable places when you take the occasional tumble
Things we don't like:
-
Not super versatile, too warm and heavy for touring
