There’s a reason you’ll see multiple entries from Tecnica on any best of boot list, and it’s the same reason Cochise is a household name on the mountainside.
With that said, they come with their share of nuances that may be cause for pause before you go running to the ski shop. The first complication is they’re a whole lot of boot. Even in the lower flex iterations, the Cochise has an aggressive (but reasonably comfortable) fit, a stiff liner, and weight to boot. The other big issue is that, while they’re marketed as a touring boot, the Cochise’s purported 50 degree range of motion feels oversold.
