Wet Weather Softshell
Snowdrifter Patagonia Jacket
Snowdrifter Patagonia Jacket Product

The Snowdrifter is yet another instance of Patagonia successfully blurring the line between hardshell and softshell jackets. This versatile touring shell is available at moderate cost, and can easily do double duty in-bounds at your local resort.

Compared to other budget models in Patagonia’s fleet, the Snowdrifter represents a marked uptick in mobility and breathability at the cost of toughness. We think the Snowdrifter is great for skiers who run warm or who spend a lot of time going uphill.

It’s weatherproof enough for all the unpredictable conditions that winter will throw your way, but won’t impede movement in the same way as a crinkly Gore-Tex coat. Our only concern is durability in the backcountry, sharp branches could quickly spell trouble for the Snowdrifter.
