Patagonia’s Powslayer specializes in moisture management. This no-frills touring shell is built like a bucket, fits like a tarp, and epitomizes the function-over-from attitude typical of a piece of technical equipment.
As a serious piece of gear designed to keep you dry on your wet and wild winter adventures, the Powslayer isn’t without its particularities. The Powslayer delineates the difference between function and comfort; it’s very good at what it does, but it doesn’t offer much by way of amenities outside of fit adjustments and pockets.
It’s a great daily driver for staunch uphill enthusiasts and powderhounds alike but lacks the versatility most skiers look for.
